Medicine ceremonies call upon the spiritual powers of plants to produce deep and lasting change. A strong brew of the appropriate herb is taken in a ceremony which may last two to four hours. Sacred songs are sung appropriate to the spirits that work with that plant. Ceremonies are generally performed at night, which is more conducive to vision. There is often emotional release, realisations and the awakening of latent power. The following medicines are offered:

• Muira Puama. Another sexual healer, but works more consciously. During this ceremony, you go through memories of traumatic relationships and childhood events that have led to negative conditioning, experiencing the emotions while being able to step back and look at the patterns that before you had no control over. By the end of the ceremony, all those patterns will have been healed.
• Mandrake. A very initiatory plant,that takes you to the core of your power. Mandrake initiates one through the wounding. We all go through a wounding at some time in our lives,which drives us to explore our shadows, in order to find our true power. So long as we hold on to what we were, we do not have the power to complete our challenges. Mandrake takes you through death and rebirth, so you come into your true power. The process takes 24 hours. You will go unconcious for about an hour, and come out changed. the rest of the time you will remain in a meditative space while your new powerful self integrates. Mandrake is poisonous in large amounts and should only be taken with an experienced Shaman.
• Dictamus. This is a gentle medicine that brings in the aid of positive spirits. After releasing all negative spirits, it is very useful to replace them with something positive, which will bring you good luck and support all your efforts.
• Salvia Divinorum. A divinatory herb that is smoked to bring vision. In ceremony, it will release identities to give you the experience of being pure awareness, from which state you can permanently release whatever identities or beliefs no longer serve you. This makes it extremely transformative when used properly. Some training and guidance are needed for this. The whole experience is over within two hours.
• Thornapple. The Astral projection plant par excellence. It will help you to leave your body and travel in Astral form to wherever you wish.

Medicine ceremonies are often given as an optional extra on the Saturday night of our weekend courses, but are also organised separately. They can be arranged to order for any interested groups.

Please note that medicine ceremonies are temporarily suspended while we fight a legal battle to protect our rights. We should be running them again soon, as there is practically no chance of losing, as the legality was already established in the 1984 United Nations convention on psychotropic substances, and this is a major human rights violation by the police.
